A clubnight held at Death Disco on Friday 10th October. The event starts at 22:00.

LIFTED is back for a second instalment after a sellout event in May. Pushing sounds of contemporary African dance music, with special headliner Sweetny-Ivy joining ROA Archive and Jonesy Wales. Expect sounds like Amapiano, Gqom, 3 Step, Afro House and UK Funky.

Making her Bristol debut, Sweetny-Ivy is a DJ, host, and dancer based in London, made in Uganda.

Since taking a more intentional approach to her DJ career, Sweetny-Ivy's rise has been unstoppable. She has played at some of the UK's most renowned events and major stages, including Boomtown, UK Black Pride, Piano House, Piano People, Tate, SXSW London, and more. Her sets have ignited internationally recognised venues such as Ministry of Sound, Outernet, House of KOKO, Brixton Jamm, 180 House, and Brighton Pride.

Most notably, her talent has been showcased on some of the UK's top DJ platforms, including Aprtment Life (alongside Victoria Monét), Deep Rooted, and EXT Radio, to name a few.

Roa (Rhythms.Of.Africa) is a Bristol-based DJ & MC known for his high-energy sets and signature blends of Amapiano, Afro-house, and 3-step. With a rep for exclusive selections and smooth transitions, he’s played at venues like Lakota, Love Inn, and SWU FM and now he’s bringing that same energy to Lifted Bristol.

Jonesy Wales brings a blend of Amapiano and UK Funky with an inflection of Soca and Dancehall styles, reflecting his love for Carnival culture as well as deep basslines. Expect plenty of his own edits, and forthcoming releases as his own journey into music production begins to take shape.
