Elastic Furniture presents:
CITIZENRY (Canada)
CITIZENRY is the solo work of Canadian drummer Michael Wallace. Fresh off the back of him opening for Crack Cloud on May 4th were so excited to have him back in Bristol for a special floor show in the Exchange main room.
Infused with teen-vandal spray paint energy and delivered as a bombastic experimental package, CITIZENRY showcases Wallace's raw and uninhabited energy. The project combines late 80s gothy cyberpunk with experimental 90s electro.
Based in Toronto ON, CITIZENRY spans influences and dynamics that range from punchy dance tracks reminiscent of electro pioneers The Chemical Brothers and Prodigy, to a more modern approach influenced by the likes of Holy Fuck and Sextile.
This work is a departure from Wallace's usual role behind the kit, where he provides the backbone for Preoccupations, Women and various other projects.
+ support from Patsy Delve (duo)
Taking notes from both past and present, Patsy Delve is the drag alter-ego project of Bristol based musician Noah Radley (Riley/Radley, Lande Hekt, ex-Pictureframes). Drawing inspiration from the likes of Cindy Lee, Velvet Underground, The Paris Sisters and Dirty Beaches, Patsy Delve harkens back to a time and place barely remembered; red-tinted hues, dusty highways and corners of dark late night bars.
