SOUL IN THE CITY returns in 2026!

After 5 beautiful events in 2025, we are back bigger, brighter, and overflowing with music, stories, and undeniable vibes.

Our Feb show features Maxime Elliot. Born in Lyon France, Maxime blends soul and French pop into smooth, modern pop-soul. Since releasing his debut EP Purple Groove (2022), Maxime has been supported by BBC Introducing and winning over audiences with warm and heartfelt songwriting inspired by artists like Leon Bridges, Christine & The Queens and Olivia Dean.

For this new edition, Maxime will perform and co-host the night alongside soul superstar Scarlett Fagan. Together, they’ll guide you through the best of Bristol’s soulful scene with two exciting special guests: LAURA DIA and SOULBEE.

Creating a unique blend of sound, Bristol-based Laura Dia stands out as a versatile artist in the Alternative-R&B space. The singer, songwriter and producer blends the realms of contemporary R&B, Pop, Soul and her West African heritage. Since her 2021 debut, she has recorded, produced and released her own music, independently discovering her sound.
She has received support from platforms such as BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Radio 1-Future Soul and has touched notable stages in the south such as Bristol Beacon, Forwards festival, Boomtown and Glastonbury. Her voice, music and performances are known to be uniquely polarised; delicate and sweet yet powerful and soulful.
