Brace 'Quaternity' album launch at Friendly Records
See event details

A gig held at Friendly Records on Thursday 8th December. The event starts at 19:30.

It's an honour to welcome & host Brace at Friendly Records as they celebrate the release of their debut album Quaternity with two sets of explosive free jazz.

Brace are Ollie Moore (Reeds/keyboards) and Aidan Searle (drums /percussion). As a founding member of Pigbag Ollie was an active player on the Bristol post-punk scene and has collaborated with Au Pairs, Red Snapper & Craig Davies. Aidan has drummed in bands such as Hi Fiction Science, Dominions of Glue & HEXIT.

The music of Brace evolves from improvisation drawn on a collision of free & spiritual jazz, no wave & dub music. The duo have been developing a reputation on the Bristol/London improvisation scene with sessions at Sounds On The Corner, Domestic Sound Cupboard & Skronk.

Their debut album Quaternity is an explosive stream of fully formed composition that powerfully remains on the edge with the charge of free improvisation.

Around the performance will be the fine taste, playful & explorative selections of BENT (Howard Purse) on the turntables.
