Looking forward to welcoming the superb violinist Graham Clark back to Fringe Jazz. These days Clark is based in the North West but the ex GONG fiddle player actually started his career here in Bristol and in the 80's was a regular at Gorge Jazz at The Avon Gorge Hotel along with Andy Sheppard, Jerry Underwood, Paul Dunmall, Tony Orrell, Bob Helson, Mark Langford, Pete Maxfield, Tim Richards and many other great musicians. Tonight's band features the wonderful Jim Blomfield on piano, the brilliant Italian Double Bass player Pasquale Votino and Fringe Jazz favourite Andy Tween on drums. Jim, Pasquale and Andy were with Graham on his excellent gig back in 2014 so all four musicians know each other well and this promises to be great evening..
GRAHAM CLARK is an incredibly versatile violinist with a reputation encompassing virtually all styles of jazz from contemporary to straight ahead to free improvisation. It's also not unusual to find him playing rock, fusion, folk and even pop. Clark had a long collaboration with Daevid Allen (1988 to 2014) playing with GONG and the MAGICK BROTHERS. Other musicians he has worked with include Andy Sheppard, Keith Tippett, Phil Lee, Paz, Brian Godding, Elbow, Graham Massey, 808 State, Toolshed, Lamb, Bryan Glancy, Little Sparrow, Jah Wobble, Louis Gordon, Liz Fletcher, Stephen Grew, Martin Archer, Peter Fairclough and the American violinist Mark Feldman.
