Film Night Challenge Thingy

Each month, Dirty Jack and The Gaffe will set a brand-new film brief, giving writers, directors, performers, producers and filmmakers across Bristol the chance to take an idea from the page to the screen.

The challenge is simple: take the brief, make something funny, and get it in front of an audience.

From sketches and shorts to weird little experiments, character pieces and completely unexpected takes on the brief, the night is a chance to develop new work, try things out and collaborate with other creatives in the city.

Every film submitted will be screened to Bristol’s comedy community at The Gaffe, creating a regular platform for local talent to share work, discover new collaborators and build connections. It’s less about making the perfect film and more about making the thing!

Test ideas, take creative risks and find the people you want to make the next thing with.

Whether you’re an established filmmaker, a comedian with an idea, a writer looking for performers, or someone who’s never made a film before, the Film Challenge is an open invitation to get involved.

FILM BRIEF THIS MONTH:
All films are to be created and submitted using the link below BEFORE Monday 28th September. Anything submitted on the day itself is at risk of being too late to arrange screening. 

The films will then be screened at the event on the night.

Film requirements: 

•⁠  ⁠5 mins maximum

•⁠  ⁠⁠Made in/around Bristol

•⁠  ⁠⁠Use Bristol talent

•⁠  ⁠⁠Include the line “That’s not gonna fit in there”

All mediums accepted, this can be a sketch, a short film, a pilot, a music video, just keep it FUNNY.
