Threatend by the Bell Tolls of Time - book launch and author Q&A with Jono Coote at Gratitude Skate Shop, 17 Cannon Street, Bedminster, Bristol, BS3 1BH

Made up of notes written whilst roaming that drizzle-soaked landmass often described satirically as the 'United Kingdom', Threatend by the Bell Tolls of Time - it's title taken from graffiti scrawled on the walls of an abandoned pool - is an exploration into why skateboarding as a culture imbues certain locations with an aura far beyond their physical presence. Why are our weekends spent roaming car parks and housing estates and government buildings? Can transcendence be found in a ditch on the outskirts of Doncaster? Were the Victorians really "heraldry twats"? Dodging rain, security guards and feral teenagers from Douglas to Dundee and from Lewes to Liverpool, from pubs to skateparks and from royal monuments to off licences, Jono Coote attempts to see if the act of travel can provide something approaching an answer.
