The founders of Love of Dub present Kilner Jazz, an intimate series of Jazz sessions held at The Jam Jar Bristol venue; Exploring a new wave of inspiring musicians, sharing their passion & own creative interpretation of their craft, with flare & unpredictability.
We kick things off with a highly acclaimed concert 'Profoundly Blue', celebrating the traditional hot jazz music of Louisiana-born clarinettist Edmond Hall.
The show features leading UK clarinet star Adrian Cox with his first-class band;
Joe Webb (piano)
Simon Read (double bass)
Gethin Jones (drums)
Together, they bring to life a fine selection of Hall’s work with Eddie Condon, Teddy Wilson and of course, Louis Armstrong, in this fantastic tribute to one of the true legends of jazz.
His 2018 tour has had rave reviews as well as a feature on the Cerys Matthews show on BBC Radio 6 Music. #ukjazz
Adrian Cox is also an invaluable member of the incredible Kansas Smitty’s House Band, who recently won ‘best small group’ in the UK Jazz awards. Adrian was voted second place in the clarinet category, behind the awesome Alan Barns.
Over his career he has performed with artists including Wynton Marsalis, The Jazz at Lincoln Centre Orchestra, Dr. John, Maceo Parker, Ronnie Wood, Guy Barker, at countless sell-out shows including Ronnie Scott’s, The Barbican, and The Lincoln Center (New York).
