Gidiki at The Jam Jar

A gig held at The Jam Jar on Sunday 8th November. The event starts at 20:30.

Gidiki are at the forefront of the folk revival scene in Greece. Their songs “Αφούσης” and “Το Γλέντι” were viral hits in 2024 and 2025. Their 3 albums combine keeping tradition alive while dipping their toes into the glimmering sea of progressive folk. Think Dead Can Dance if Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry were from the Greek isles.

This is not bouzouki and plate smashing. This is Greek folk fire at its most genuine. Songs from all over Greece, from Crete & the Aegean islands to the mainland idyllic villages of Epirus & Macedonia. They are all represented by a variety of traditional instruments including lute, violin, percussion, clarinet and of course the Greek bagpipes.

This is a band whose music simply unites people and whose shows are so indicative of the fun loving nature of Greeks everywhere!

Be prepared to dance, sing and let the music take you to the eternal sunshine that is Greece!
