Thanda Choir, founded in 2023 in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, South Africa, offers young people in the township an opportunity to express themselves, learn and flourish through music. Designed to address local everyday challenges, the project provides a safe space where teenagers can develop their artistic and leadership skills, as well as sustainable career prospects in the arts.

Thanda Choir’s mission is clear: to strengthen community pride, break cycles of poverty and give a voice to the youth of Khayelitsha through inspiring and hopeful performances.

The choir blends traditional South African sounds with contemporary influences, creating music that is deeply unifying and meaningful whilst inspiring global audiences.
