WorldService Project + Roller Trio at Jam Jar

A gig held at The Jam Jar on Wednesday 17th November. The event starts at 20:00.

Specialising in ‘punk-jazz’, WorldService Project harnesses a whirlwind of dynamism within their sound.

With keyboardist and vocalist Dave Morecroft at the helm, “the band play jazz-infused nu-funk, rammed with stop-start melodies, crunching bass-guitar and drum grooves” (The Guardian).

Known for their anarchic, electrifying live performances, WorldService Project have toured across the world as well as being winners of the Peter Whittingham Jazz Award and Young European Jazz Artist nominees.Their most recent fifth record ‘Hiding in Plain Sight’ offers a “visceral power” (The Jazzman).

For their upcoming tour they’re joined by Mercury Prize nominated Leeds-based jazz outfit Roller Trio, equally known for stunning audiences and winning great critical praise for their mix of high-octane technique and deceptively catchy tunes.
