Transcendental Promotions presents:
100 Years of Miles Davis with Enrico Merlin + BEJE & RWKUS
A special evening of adventurous jazz, live electronics and storytelling celebrating 100 years of Miles Davis.
Italian guitarist-composer Enrico Merlin joins forces with the British European Jazz Ensemble (BEJE) for a rare Bristol performance of expansive contemporary jazz: exploratory, cinematic and wildly unpredictable music without boundaries.
Blending improvisation, texture and deep collective interplay, Enrico Merlin & BEJE create evocative sonic worlds that move from delicate dreamscapes to fierce rhythmic intensity — every performance unique and unrepeatable.
Alongside the live music, Enrico Merlin — acclaimed author and researcher on Miles Davis — will present two short talks exploring the creative transformations of one of modern music’s most radical artists, from modal jazz and orchestral collaborations to the revolutionary electric years.
Between the talks, Bristol trio RWKUS bring their high-energy fusion of jungle, broken-beat and improvisation. Featuring members of Snazzback, Cousin Kula and Madly, the group channel the spontaneity of jazz through the energy of sound system culture and club music.
From electric jazz to Bristol bass pressure, this is a night dedicated to musical reinvention, risk-taking and freedom of sound.
Schedule
• Opening talk: Miles Davis — Reinventing Sound, Reinventing Himself
• RWKUS live
• Second talk: Electric Miles
• Enrico Merlin & BEJE live
