The Sophie Stockham Trio make their return to the Leftbank. With a great lineup of Sophie Stockham on sax, Dan Moore on keys and Matt Brown on drums. With the players being well known for bands such as Sefrial, Dakhla Brass and Modulus III this is music at it's finest.
A freelance alto/tenor saxophonist based in Bristol UK, Sophie has studied with Dennis Rollins, Soweto Kinch, and Abram Wilson. She performs regularly at major venues and festivals across the UK. With her own original projects, Dakhla and Sefrial, Sophie has supported major acts such as Jerry Dammers (The Specials), The Apples, Hot 8 Brass band, Youngblood Brass band, The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, and The Black Seeds. Sophie has had regular national radio play (BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 6) and her bands have performed for BBC Introducing's ‘Best of New Jazz’ at the Manchester Jazz Festival, at Montreal Jazz festival for BBC Introducing, and at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall with Jamie Cullum. Sophie's strong incisive signature sound makes impressive use of space and melody.
