A
clubnight
held at Lost Horizon
on Sunday 28th November. The event starts at 21:00.
We’re back baby! Get ready for another night of dance, love, and connection.
Once again we are reviving the spirit of the legendary lesbian disco scene to which Bristol was home back in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. These empowering nights used to play a central role in connecting the local queer community, offering a safe space in which womxn were able to be themselves and escape an often hostile outside world.
The Womxns Disco Collective believes that these safe spaces, now lost, are just as necessary in 2021 as they were back then.
As such, we invite all shes and theys to join us on the Lost Horizon dance floor from 9pm-1am on Sunday November 28th, for a very queer DIY night of disco, old skool house, and UKG. Our talented fxmale DJs – Sadsugar, DJ Ammi, Jamurai, EMMY, and Yours Truly – will be spinning on both CDJs and vinyl decks.*
Tickets are just £5, and half of profit made from the event will be donated to a local LGBTQIA+ charity.
It’s again time to funk the patriarchy!
*We use the term womxn here in an inclusive sense to include trans women and those who identify as non-binary or gender nonconforming; please be assured that your gender will not be interrogated at the door! Moreover, although this event aims primarily to create a safe space for queer womxn, cis and/or straight womxn are also very much welcome.
