with Andy Skellam & Anna Kissell at Matter Whole Foods
Tiered pricing

A gig on Thursday 22nd January. The event starts at 20:00.

Long running much-loved folk/indie night Undergrowth, established in cosy new venue, Matter Whole Foods. Expect quiet-listening atmosphere for this month’s double headliners and UG collective members Anna Kissell and Andy Skellam.

Andy Skellam’s songwriting borrows elements from multiple genres, with strong elements of 60s-tinged homespun psychedelia. His work is an attempt to make sense of the world and our place in it. His album Brighten Up the Place (Pear O’Legs) “is a lovely, somnambulist set of songs about wayward hearts, bluebirds and bloodhounds”. The Guardian.

Anna Kissell performs hushed, slow-burn dream folk with beautifully sparse arrangements. Her voice rides naturally over finger picked guitar inviting listeners to sit back and forget time

The pair will perform material from a forthcoming duet album of alt-folk poetry with close harmony at the heart of every song. For fans of Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Joan Shelly and Fionn Regan.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions
