The Rhythm & Blues Revue // The Hatch Organ Trio at Mr Wolfs

A gig held at Mr Wolfs on Friday 20th February. The event starts at 21:00.

THE RHYTHM & BLUES REVUE
The Rhythm and Blues Revue is a Bristol based 1960’s covers band specialising in Blues, Soul and Funk, with notes of Jazz and Hip Hop. Playing covers by Little Richard, Otis Reading, Jimi Hendrix, Peter Green to name a few, plus a few modern covers made retro by bands like the Artic Monkeys.

The band is fronted by Adam Holgate, who performs internationally as a guitarist and songwriter with Hannah Williams and the Affirmations (sampled by Jay Z on the title track of his last album ‘4.44’ in 2017) and a bassist with Ephemerals.

THE HATCH ORGAN TRIIO
The Hatch Organ Trio is a fresh Bristol project comprised of exciting jazz musicians who are regulars on the scene. The group is spearheaded by guitarist Ollie Hatch, whose straight-ahead and bebop-flavoured melodic improvisation leads the trio through an eclectic repertoire of swinging jazz, groove-soaked funk and hard-hitting jazz fusion. Accompanied by the versatile, locked-in groove of drummer George Milnes, and funky, blues-influenced sound of organist Ellis Howell, the trio will take you on a musical journey from Wes Montgomery to John Scofield, to Dr Lonnie Smith and Joe Pass.
