Salute the Sun met on their first day at Bristol University, singer Rob Aros, guitarist Matt Townsend, and twin brothers bassist Toby Williams and drummer Sam Williams then went on to form Salute the Sun in January 2014.
Humble beginnings performing covers at University events soon made way to ambitious song writing and appearances at local Bristol venues ‘The Louisiana’ and ‘The Fleece’. Their debut EP Guard Down was released on 17th Dec 2014 and completely sold out at a packed ‘Be.In.Bristol’ as the band looked to secure their place in the Bristol music scene.
