Fika + Aurora Rays at Mr Wolfs
See event details

A gig held at Mr Wolfs on Saturday 8th January. The event starts at 21:00.

We are Fika! An 8-piece neo-soul collective based in the south-west. Our music consists of a unique blend of hip-hop, jazz and soul. Inspired by the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote, Alfa Mist and Vulfpeck, we seek to craft fresh harmonic movement underneath catchy grooves. Much like the Swedish word Fika meaning “a break to relax with friends” of which the band takes its name, the listener can expect to see a mix of mellow vibes and high-energy as soft jazz and hip-hop coalesce. We also demonstrate through our lyrics, sung, rapped and spoken, a poetic and literary flair that pulls at the heart strings. We’re a collection of the UK’s finest jazz musicians’ smashing the Leeds, London and Birmingham scenes with roots in the south-west.
