A
gig
held at Mr Wolfs
on Thursday 21st July. The event starts at 21:00.
TIKAL
Following a nearly sold out show earlier in the year, TIKAL return to Mr Wolfs for a night of crafted melodies, improvisation, unexpected beat switches and ever present focus on groove.
Combining their tastes in contemporary jazz, hip-hop, world and electronic music above, the 6-piece from Falmouth have enjoyed a year of honing their live act across festivals and venues in the UK including supporting Tom Misch, cousin kula and corto alto.
Having just released their warmly met debut single "Even Colder" the band continue to develop their unique sound and find new ways to move their audience.
PLASTIIC TERRAS
Last time Plastic Terras played Mr Wolf’s they rolled out one of their heaviest sets to date, and as always their plan is to come back bigger and badder. This two piece live Hip-Hop group from Bristol have been crafting their wholly-unique groove and sound since 2018. Their latest single ‘Energy’ saw them dive into grime territory once again, and boy does it pack a punch. Between the flashes of psychedelic starlight, the explosive bass laden sound they’re known for stabs through with laser focus, culminating in a head crushing climax. Often flipping between smooth Hip Hop, Breakbeat, Jungle and Dubstep in their sets means there are no boundaries when it comes to a live show. Beats that sludge through your ears, drums that knock you for six; and Gatling gun vocals that never miss mean that this is one support act you won’t forget any time soon.
Door Policy
Last entry with a ticket at 11:30pm, but all tickets holders are welcome to stay for the after show DJ until close. If you are planning to arrive later for the DJs, then payment will be taken on the door.
