This September, we’re bringing The Singer Songwriter Sessions to @no1harbourside for a new stripped-back evening of live music by the harbour.
Intimate acoustic sets, busking-stage energy and a rotating lineup of Bristol-based singer-songwriters sharing their music in its simplest form.
We’ll kick things off with three curated artists, each playing a 20-minute set, before opening things up for an optional open mic from 9pm.
7:30pm — Arrive, grab a drink & settle in
7:40–8pm — Ro and Isla Bryne (@ro.musician & @islabyrne)
South West born and raised by the sea, Ro Clark and Isla Byrne come together for a duet set rooted in folk, storytelling and a shared connection to people and place.
Both singer-songwriters draw from lived experience, the landscapes they’ve moved through and the small moments that stay with them. Ro’s folk-influenced songwriting is warm, melodic and story-led, while Isla’s indie folk-pop has an honest, journal-like quality, shaped by encounters with people, the land and the places she has called home.
8:10–8:30pm — Reuben Lovett (@lovettsong)
Reuben Lovett is a West Midlands based songwriter blending folk, reggae, and punk into emotionally direct storytelling written from his own lived experience.
Melody driven songs that sit between delicate and spiky, tenderness with an edge.
Either solo, backed by a shifting cast of musicians or alongside 11-piece outfit Dub Catalyst.
He's chasing the same thing every time, a kind of weightlessness and the sense of a song landing exactly as he imagined it, with a room singing it back to him.
That instinct is DIY at heart — hand-made where it counts — built to leave an audience feeling more present not just entertained.
His current single "Old Mexico," wrapped in cover art he hand-carved, is the clearest example yet.
8:40–9pm — Teorstan (@teorstan)
Teorstan is led by Bristol-based songwriter, singer, and guitarist Tom Martin. Named for the Old English word for the river that runs through his hometown, Teorstan’s songs combine the storytelling tradition of folk music with a modern feel, pairing a poetic pen with raw, real emotion. Teorstan has drawn comparisons to Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens and Jeff Buckley and is fresh from a first UK tour.
Martin has accrued over a million streams and plays on BBC Radio 1 & 6 via his work with other artists and is currently recording his debut album, with plans to release in early 2027.
9–10pm — Open mic
Come for a drink and discover some brilliant local songwriters, or bring an instrument and put your name down to play.
