Information:

STEP RIGHT UP NOW WANNABE KINGS! Bristol's premier queer punk drag king cabaret night Brizzle Boyz is bringing you a long awaited and much requested drag king crash course! Come join us in celebrating all things cabaret, queer, and CAMP!*

This series of bespoke workshops have been carefully crafted to give you all you need to go from car radio crooner to cabaret cassanova in just five fun packed weeks! We will be focusing on makeup and looks, physicality, lipsync, and most importantly - how to craft a performance fit for a king! Following your four weeks of once-a-week workshops and practice you will be invited to perform at a graduation showcase at the beautiful Old Market Assembly.

In order to give everyone the full amount of attention we feel is necessary for our fledgling kings to flourish, we are limiting spaces to eight people.

*No actual camping involved, we're not monsters.

Dates and Times:
Sat 17th Aug - 14:00 -17:00 - face, binding, and looks
Sat 24th Aug- 14:00 -17:00 - movement, stage craft, lipsync
Sat 31st Aug - 14:00 -17:00 - act development

Sat 14th Sept - 21:00 -00:00 - performer showcase

Every Thursday from 19:00 you will also have access to a central Bristol studio. Location for each date is to be confirmed but will all take place in central Bristol.

What is this course offering?
We are offering practical advice on how to kickstart your first jumps on to the stage in an intimate and fun setting. Each of the four weekly workshops is three hours long and will cover different aspects of the art of drag kinging. In addition to the workshops, there will also be an opportunity to attend an (optional) studio session each week to rehearse, create and discuss ideas. You will also have access to a private Facebook support group where you will be encouraged to ask for feedback on your progress and generally chat all things drag!

Who are you?
We are Roddy Jodphurs and Oliver Assets, founders and producers of Bristol's extraordinarily successful drag king cabaret night Brizzle Boyz.

Is this for me?
This course has been designed for complete beginners to newbie performers. We encourage people of all genders, ethnicities, adult ages, sexualities, and physical abilities to join. How much and how do I pay?

Please note that if you are unable to attend any of the workshops you will still be required to pay the full course fee. If you'd prefer to pay all in one go, send us a message to brizzleboiz@gmail.com and we'll send you over the details to do so.

I really want to do this but I can't afford it right now
