See event details

A event held at PRSC on Saturday 21st March. The event starts at 19:30.

IT’S OUR SECOND ANNIVERSARY! We’ll be putting on a special show and keeping the bar open after the show for everyone to celebrate!

Join us for a night of spontaneous laughter at The Improv Spotlight. Immerse yourself in the world of unscripted comedy as two talented groups from our vibrant community take centre stage. These groups will weave unique stories, characters, and humour on the spot for your entertainment. The Spotlight highlights the spontaneous comedy of improvised theatre and proudly showcases the diverse skills of local troupes and artists within our community.

Doors at 7pm. Show starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets are Pay What You Can with a minimum of £8.

This month under the Spotlight we have a triple bill of shorter shows to fit in as much fun improv as possible for the party, they are: Mini Wasteland Tales, Straight Outta Cotham and The Groundhogs.

* Straight Outta Cotham *

This is a story from not too far
about a group of performers on their way to the stars,
they'll give you some scenes
and bring you the beat
while you sit there grinning,
sitting in your seat.
That's right and when you feel it,
then get up off your bottom
while we wow you with the best raps
Straight Outta Cotham!
Disclaimer: This show consists of high energy freestyle raps, games and improvised scenes that'll have you shouting for more!

* The Groundhogs *

The Groundhogs are a coterie of improvisers who will take a single scene, and explore every wacky way it could have played out. They have performed all over the UK and will one day fulfil their goal of performing on the moon.

* Mini Wasteland Tales *

Shelter from the nuclear winter inside the safety of our bunker and listen to tales from storytellers from across the wasteland! These tales may feature raiders, mutants, adventure - and of course will be entirely made up on the spot, fuelled by your suggestions! This absurd dark comedy is inspired by shows such as Fallout and Mad Max.
