TO RESIST IS NOT TO CEASE

A gathering of film, talks, music, textiles and food in solidarity with Palestine.

All profits will be shared equally between Medical Aid for Palestinians (https://www.map.org.uk/) and The Sameer Project (https://linktr.ee/thesameerproject).

Film Screening & Talk: Palestinian Sound Archive
Talk: Amir Ashkar
Live Music: Lobna Sana (vocals), Dali de Saint Paul (vocals) & Ossia (electronics), Dan Nicholls (keyboards) & Dan Johnson (drums).
DJ: k means
Textile Installation: Lobna Sana
Food: Dan Thorman & Adam Asghar

From 6pm when the doors open, we will be serving freshly prepared Palestinian food, with vegan options and rice and bread, available to purchase. The soundtrack will be provided by k means, who will also be djing in the gaps to bridge the performances and talks for the rest of the evening.

We will start the programme at 6.30pm for an introductory talk from Mo'min Swaitat from Palestinian Sound Archive, before he screens a documentary charting the journey of rediscovering the music of Palestine and its history of celebration and resistance.

This will be followed by live music from Lobna Saba, a Bedouin Palestinian architect and artist, who will perform and sing, bringing both physical and aural tapestries of tones and texture together with her beautiful vocals.

Our dear Palestinian friend, philosopher, and winemaker from the Galilee, Amir Ashkar will be presenting a talk (topic TBC!).

The evening will be completed with a pair of improvised music performances. First, Dan Nicholls (keyboards) and Dan Johnson (drums) will deliver meditations on movement and spontaneous club rhythms before Dali de Saint Paul and Ossia pool their visceral, politically-charged sonics into an energetic climax.

There will be a really nice big soundsystem : )
