Fiain - Samhain, Bonfire celebration

Come and wander with us...

as we gather to celebrate the turning of the season. As the dark nights draw in we will be exploring the seasonal rituals of Samhain and Bonfire night with live music from Laurie Lelliot, folklore, film projecting, open mic, fire and tea.

Open mic: We would love to hear a story, song or thought to share around the fire.

Come and reconnect with the rhythms of nature on the beautiful surroundings of Springfield Allotments. With views over Bristol we will be able to see the fireworks.

Laurie Lelliot performs a selection of seasonally grim oddments from the folk song indices of Britain, as well as a sprinkling of original tunes.

As the singer and guitarist of avant folk ensemble Scops, Laurie has staged the sonic folk tale ‘Greya and Glibyun’ - gruelling, broody and agitated character portrayals.

With thoughtful synthesis of storytelling and musicality at the heart of Laurie’s solo performances, they present narratives that are sensitive and relatable, but occasionally jarring and freakish.

This is an outdoor event unless the weather turns we will head to the roundhouse.

Dress to keep warm and footwear for uneven ground.

Wander Gather we use the arts to reconnect people to nature and the seasons.
