Winter Solstice at Springfield Allotments

A gig on Tuesday 20th December. The event starts at 19:00.

Come and wander with us...

As we come together to celebrate Winter Solstice. Let's reveal in the darkness that this time of year brings and be grateful that each day forward will be blessed with a little more light.

As we gather on (almost) the longest night of the year, around the fire, we will have live music from wonderful singer/song writer, Claire Vine. As well as folktales, Yuletide traditions, poems, mince pies and other festive treats with tea.

Slow down and take in all the magic of the Winter season in this lovely natural setting.

As always, we encourage anyone who wants to share a poem, story or song.

Location: The roundhouse, Springfield Allotments, Knowle

Claire Vine’s songs sound like they’ve always existed. She has a knack for condensing urgent political and social commentary into concise, uncompromising moments of raw beauty.

Her debut EP Tunnel was released in December 2020, comprising six original songs with rich layers of harmonium and strings alongside complex a capella vocal arrangements, and between them all a thread of honest observations about the state of the world.

For fans of: Cosmo Sheldrake, Peggy Seeger, Mountain Man, Lankum
