A event on Today. The event starts at 17:30.
You are cordially and enthusiastically invited to an immersive and creative workshop centred on people's relationship to the River Avon. Through hands-on activities, shared stories, zine making activities, screen printing, cyanotyping, collaging, and map-annotation we want to reflect on how the river shapes our sense of place and our engagement with nature. We'll also explore issues of river health, citizen science, and the way that the Avon is becoming a focal point for political action.
The workshop is completely free to attend. No tickets needed.
Food and refreshments will be provided free of charge.
We have also hired out one of the saunas on-site for the duration of the evening.
It's a drop in event, so you can stay for as long as you want to and leave as quickly as you need to.
The event offers a welcoming and creative space to connect, create, and imagine new futures for the river and our city.
This event is being put on by two researchers (Oscar Hartman Davies and George Cusworth) with some funding from the University of Oslo. We're putting together a zine to capture people's diverse experiences of swimming in the river and caring for it. We want to produce something that can be used in ongoing efforts to campaign for a better, healthier future for the Avon.
The event is also being run in collaboration with We Are the Avon.
Note, if you want to use the sauna, you will have to fill out the following waiver:
