Nik Colk Void is an experimental electronic artist and producer, best known as one half of DFA signings Factory Floor, as one-third of Carter Tutti Void alongside Cosey Fanni Tutti and Chris Carter (Throbbing Gristle / Chris & Cosey). She has been working in various strands of music for over 20 years, acquiring a reputation as a multidisciplinary artist. A prolific collaborator, Void’s activities span across groups as diverse as Carter Tutti Void, Factory Floor, Kaito and NPVR. Recently coming to the fore as a solo artist, Void works with modular synthesisers and other electronics to create music pulling from many threads of the electronic tapestry. Void is sure to bring the unexpected to Strange Brew, fusing the organic with the alien along the way.

Simon Fisher Turner’s career is similarly multi-faceted in his back catalogue of musical works. Having began his recording career as a teen pop star in the early 1970s, SFT’s activities span from scoring films for the likes of Derek Jarman and Mike Hodges to appearing as half of the dream-pop pioneers Deux Filles. More recent projects include releases for Mute Records and Editions Mego, as well as his ongoing Guerrilla Audio project for Touch. Given these recent musical adventures, SFT’s appearance at Strange Brew promises to plunge the audience into a sea of electro-acoustic textures and atmospheres “big and small, loud and quiet.” We invite you to an evening of electronic entertainment - arrive early to avoid disappointment. With thanks to the National Lottery and Music Venue Trust for their support.
