Milkweed + Adam Bohman at Strange Brew

A gig held at Strange Brew on Sunday 3rd May. The event starts at 19:00.

One of most revered new acts in UK folk plays Strange Brew after appearing in many of 2025's 'Best albums of the year' lists. A singular and enigmatic ‘slacker‑trad’ duo redefining what folk music can be.

Rooted in old songs and storytelling, Milkweed draw from ancient texts, mythic lore and traditional British and Appalachian influences to craft songs that feel both timeless and alive – lyrical tales sung with clarity and depth. Their latest work Remscéla draws on the epic Irish tale Táin Bó Cuailnge, while past releases explore folklore and legend through their distinct approach.

On stage, Milkweed’s performance brings these narratives to life with voice, guitar and banjo – a bold celebration of folk’s past and present that invites you to listen closely and lose yourself in story and song.
