Schwet with Deliluh & Kelan at Strange Brew
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Incendiary EBM for the red light - Deliluh's dark burners ratchet-up intense analogue synth, lashed vocals and dour drum machine workouts. They're flying in from Canada so consider this a rare opportunity not to miss."

SCHWET Proudly presents:

Deliluh
[Darkwave/Postpunk 2-piece from Toronto]
(Tin Angel Records/Raw Materials)

Excited to welcome DELILUH back to Bristol, returning this time as a 2-piece (having played The Lanes in '19 as a 4-piece). This slimlined line-up sees them focusing their attentions on taut-AF drum machine workouts and minimalistic synthesizer deployment. 'Amulet', their first release in this reconfiguration, retains all the tension and foreboding of their earlier work whilst dialing up the eroticism and intensity a notch further.

Schtrongly bringing to mind the "US-art-rockers-turned-decadant-European-synth-poppers" tragectory exploited by the likes of Tuxedomoon and Minimal Man, Deliluh are simply Canada's most exciting band for my money. Crucial for fans of; Slint, Codeine, Big Black, FACS/Dissapears, MY Disco, Lewesberg The Fall, D.A.F etc.

Kelan presents Downtown
[Transgressional Drum Battery]
(Normcore, Slack Alice, ATC)

Max Kelan has navigated the sub-underground of this town for a hot minute. Performing as part of Bad Tracking and Salac, running the industrial-dance parties Slack Alice, a key member of the Avon Terror Corps as well as providing music videos and live visuals for many local artists. Most recently he released a book of his collected poetry writings for Ceramics.

This will be the debut performance of his latest iteration; DOWNTOWN, coming soon for NORMCORE ATTITUDE. This solo project see’s him lyrically dealing with the UK housing crisis, seedy downtown pockets of fun, cannibalism and a further exploration into the dark corners of his mind, all set to muscular drum machine onslaught.

SCHWET DJs provide the usual unusual.
