Michel Padron and Los Abbures at The Be-bop Club
£9.00

A gig held at The Be-Bop Club on Friday 18th January. The event starts at 20:30.

Cuban trumpeter and trombonist Michel Padron has been based near Bristol for several years, but spends much of his time touring internationally. He is probably best known for his work with Cuban band Asere, the profile of which was raised considerably by their collaboration with legendary fusion drummer Billy Cobham. In autumn 2016 Asere undertook an extensive 66 date tour of the USA as a twelve piece line-up under the name Asere - The Havana Cuba All-Stars. Locally you may have heard Michel play with Latin groups K’Chevere, Baila La Cumbia or the recently formed Dockside Latin Orchestra. Los Abbures’ first performance at the club in Oct 17 was a really good night, full of great latin grooves with some sparkling solos. Michel Padron - trumpet/trombone, Jim Blomfield - piano, Pasquale Votino - bass, Justin Fellows - drums and Jason Gaines - congas playing a mixture of originals and Latin jazz classics.
