Join us in marking one year since the death of Mahsa Amini sparked protest and revolution in Iran. We will mourn our losses, but also celebrate her life and the bravery of those leading the revolution, and share the true vibrancy of the culture we are trying to save, Iranian culture - through a fully immersive experience with delicious food, drink, art and live music! Proceeds will go to Aid Box Community and building strong, cross cultural integration for Asylum seekers and refugees through partnership with the Bridge Farm Bristol and Easton Christian Family Centre by providing outdoor space and community gathering space.

The organisers:
We are Iranians- forced to live outside of our home country, not for the love of travel, or a thirst to explore, but for necessity and a better life, or living at all. We’ve found ourselves in these different lands, finding refuge, connecting, acclimating, assimilating, and moving on. But we are always connected to our source and land. We are all human, but our cultures unique, and beautifully tied to the history of our people. Having lost our homeland, we haven't lost our connection to it and each other. We wanted to bring an event that truly immerses our newfound community (YOU!) deeply in Iranian culture, if just for the evening. We want to share with you what we value, what we enjoy, directly from the source! Our two head organisers, Natasha Martirosian and Sam Saeedipoor, have spent years contemplating our culture and what it means to us. This cross cultural connection is supported by an event crew and volunteers comprised of local Bristolians and Iranians, to raise awareness, and celebrate life - in protest of opression ... with YOU!
Sam is a trained mechanical engineer and was working on his PhD when he fled Iran on foot nearly nine years ago, after the government came after him in his home and threatened his family. His journey through five countries and countless challenges has brought him to Bristol, where he has found refuge, and began rebuilding his life. He gives much of his time and energy to giving to others what he needed himself - human kindness.
Natasha Martirosian is a writer, musician, artist and environmental activist. Born in Los Angeles, California to Iranian parents, her search for identity and belonging led her on a global journey to find home. Her journey led her to Bristol, where she completed two MSc degrees in Environmental Policy and Wildlife Conservation, and found the community connection she always longed for. Within this, she has found a calling to build resilient communities through health and wellbeing through access to nature, and social inclusion through cross cultural connections. She will also be sharing her music and words with us on the night, accompanied by Jack Salt, a talented beat boxer and loop station artist in Bristol.
