Aurum Trio at The Bristol Fringe

A gig held at The Bristol Fringe on Tuesday 27th January. The event starts at 20:00.

Join us for our maiden voyage as we welcome the exciting new piano trio from acclaimed composer/pianist Rebecca Nash featuring Henrik Jensen and Dave Smith.

Rebecca Nash’s new project, Aurum, is a bold statement of intent — where raw energy and deep musicality collide. Inspired by the curious tale of the sunken treasure ship The Merchant Royal, the music inhabits a rebellious, darkly futuristic universe.

Nash’s ethereal melodies and densely saturated harmonies, along with Smith’s punk-spirited restless drumming and Jensen’s warm resonant tones, plunge listeners into a shadowy, realm that evoke the mystery of the ocean seabed.

“Nash is at the vanguard of innovative and compelling new music”
Downbeat (Peaceful King)
“Jensen is thoughtful, richly chordal and attractively Charlie Haden-like on the bass”
John Fordham, The Guardian
“Drummer Dave Smith exhibited a mastery of irresistible rhythms”
LA Times – Randy Lewis

Entry requirements: no age restrictions (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult over 21yrs, 1:1 ratio)
