Our December FITR Xmas special welcomes two fabulous projects to see in the yule tide!

We have two contrasting and very interesting sets for you for our Xmas bash this year and it is exciting to host names new, as well as well those more familiar and established, to these nights.

We start this fab evening with a duo from two mainstays of the Bristol jazz scene, not needing much by way of introduction, local legends Kevin Figes on saxophone and Jim Blomfield on piano- in a lush paired-back duo setting. This will be a brilliant chance to catch Kevin and Jim as a duo, exploring tunes they love in the close up setting of FITR. Excited for this!

And then, a voice newer to the scene, but with a lot to say also is pianist Eddie Gripper who will bring his trio across from Cardiff for this special night. Eddie is a shining exponent of the young Cardiff jazz scene, a graduate of Cardiff University and is already making waves in the city with his fresh take on the traditional repertoire and personal approach to composition and group interplay. Eddie brings an awesome trio featuring up and coming young drummer Patrick Barrett Donlon and, very excitingly, the amazing Paula Gardiner on bass! Talents a plenty- expect sensitive, nuanced modern jazz with lots of personality.

This will be a stonking night! :)
