See event details

A gig held at The Bristol Fringe on Wednesday 1st October. The event starts at 20:00.

Private Regcords presents the final date of Rhiannon Hope's EP release tour. Rhiannon Hope is a Leeds based jazz/folk singer/songwriter from Liverpool. Her songs intertwine inspiration from Jazz greats such as Ella Fitzgerald to modern day artists such as Lianne La Havas to Aldous Harding to create an intimate, soulful, and sometimes melancholic sound. Touching on topics of female experience, identity, and navigating the world growing up, Rhiannon's performance leaves you with an insight into her personal experiences through satisfying harmonies, intricate melodies, and hypnotic vibrato. Joining Rhiannon in support is Oscar Jones, a Bristol-based folk songwriter known for his earnest and sophisticated songs. He and his band create a raw wall-of-sound with janky guitars and naive sing-alongs. FFO Tom Waits, Michael Hurley, Belle and Sebastian. Also supporting is Mimi Jones, best known as the lead singer of Dogsbody, and who is recognised in the Bristol underground scene for her prolific songwriting. Reminiscent of the work of Elliott Smith, Mimi wields her songs like thunderstones. They are confessional and sophisticated-ly simple. Her vocal delivery occupies the space between Hope Sandoval and Winehouse with a distinctively haunting quality. Rhiannon's EP, 'All Things, Rising and Returning' releases 25th September via Private Regcords on streaming and vinyl, available to buy at the gig!
