Shanty-oke

Shanty-oke at The Canteen

A gig held at The Canteen on Monday 9th November. The event starts at 20:30.

Think you know shanties? OK - well meet Shanty-Oke!

Bringing Bristol’s shanty tradition into a 21st Century night out with boat-based floor fillers and a wildly unnecessary karaoke format.

Benjo Banjo and his glamorous assistant Sean ‘Stablehands’ Dominic have been making loud noises for years. Now they want to share their knowledge of singing shanties, and having fun, with new audiences. With both a passion for shanty traditions and a background in creating ridiculous interactive theatre, they want to help people experience both, all at once, at the same time.

How traditional/ridiculous will it be? You’ll have to come along and find out…

Entry requirements: 18+
