CHAI FOR ALL + KITCHEN KAPELYE - AN IRRESISTIBLY ENTERTAINING MISH-MOSH OF 'CELEBRATION MUSIC' FROM ACROSS THE JEWISH AND MIDDLE EASTERN DIASPORAS: POWERFUL YIDDISH MUSIC HALL SONGS, WHIRLING KLEZMER, AND WILDLY INFECTIOUS ARABIC DANCE TUNES. - Yalla! The classy musicians of Chai For All - 'Chai' is the Hebrew word for 'life' - flit between powerful and emotive Yiddish and Arabic songs and rousing Jewish klezmer and Middle Eastern and Arabic dance tunes. Performing in Yiddish, English, Ladino, Hebrew, and Arabic, Marianna Moralis' impassioned vocals lead the party, driving an eclectic selection of songs from Jewish and Middle Eastern diaspora communities. David Mowat (trumpet, flugelhorn), Knud Stüwe (guitar, oud), and Simon Leach (cajón, darbuka) propel the joyous and sizzling dance arrangements and instrumentals with their impressive playing and enormous sense of fun. With fantastic music, brilliant audience rapport, and more than a touch of 'twinkle-in-the-eyes' goodtime showbiz, this is a set guaranteed to raise the spirits. Exuberant support comes from Kitchen Kapelye, a spirited klezmer and traditional Eastern European folk quintet. Sababa! - 'Energetic and exciting, Chai For All combine klezmer, Yiddish folk and jazz throughout their music. Making one fierce brew as a result. It's emotive, soulful and unlike anything you'll ever see.'
