Black Rainbow
Dir: Mike Hodges, UK/USA, 1989, 98 mins, Cert: 15

Fri 4 July // 23:45 (doors from 10pm)
Tickets: £5

Rosanna Arquette gives one of her most haunting performances as Martha, a clairvoyant touring the American South with her alcoholic father (Jason Robards), offering glimpses of the afterlife to grieving churchgoers. But when she delivers a message from a man who isn’t dead — yet — a chilling sequence of murders begins, catching the attention of a sceptical journalist (Amadeus's Tom Hulce).

Directed by Get Carter’s Mike Hodges, Black Rainbow blends mystery with political paranoia, environmental catastrophe, and Southern Gothic unease. Unfairly buried upon release, this restored cult gem finally gets its due: a supernatural thriller as eerie as it is eerily prescient.
