Bristol Radical Film Festival is back with another full weekend of radical cinema.
Friday’s festival launches with the story of the People's Republic of Stoke Crofts in The Republic, followed by a Q&A with founder member Chris Chalkley.
Saturday features two films on the topic of precarity: Homebound, a film that explores the social and economic pressures that poorer people experience and that force them to make hard decisions, and is also tale of friendship with an exploration of caste, religion and social pressures in India. Later in the day, we present the much celebrated drama Two Days, One Night, that explores how precarity forces working class people to fight among themselves to survive. We have a special pass for the two films at a discounted price.
Saturday morning’s film The Day Innocence Died returns to the events of Bloody Sunday in Northern Ireland in 1972 and the fight for justice that continues to this day.
Also on Saturday, Planet Israel explores the moral numbness in Israel in the face of the current genocide.
Sunday starts with the inspiring story Everyone to Kenmure Street revisits the  spontaneous Glasgow mass protest that in 2021 stopped two men from being deported. Beyond the actual events, the film - a highly imaginative and Sundance award winning documentary - links this event to the history of protest and rebellion in Glasgow.
The festival ends with The Infiltrators a film that combines re-enactment  and documentary to reveal what happens when activists infiltrate and film inside a detention centre for migrants in the USA.
And of course, on Sunday in its usual slot, our International Short Film Showcase will bring to you short films from all over the world.
