IMMIGRANT JAMMS proudly presents: EVERYTIN’ NICE SOCIAL CLUB

There are jam nights, and then there are jam nights.

On Thursday 13th August, Immigrant Jamms rolls into The Departure Lounge for the first official EVERYTIN’ NICE Social Club — an open musical free-for-all where Afrobeat, Latin jazz, hip-hop, soul, poetry, beats, bars and whatever else you’ve got cooking can collide.

Doors from 7pm. Music from 8pm till late.

Think less polite open mic, more New York dive-bar energy with a seriously good sound system. The kind of place where you walk in not quite knowing what’s going to happen, and walk out wondering why you hadn’t found it sooner.

Because The Departure Lounge is one of those spots — if you know, you know.

Joe and his crew have quietly built a brilliant live music venue south of the river, complete with excellent acoustics, an industrial PA system ready for even the heaviest of heavies, and an intimate atmosphere that makes a packed room feel like a secret. Jump on the 75 or 76 bus and you’re there.

And Immigrant Jamms already knows what this room can do.

The band recently took over the space for a laid-back Sunday Sessions recording, turning the Departure Lounge into the perfect backdrop for their eclectic blend of Afrobeat, Latin jazz and hip-hop. Now they’re coming back — and this time, they’re throwing the doors open.

EVERYTIN’ NICE Social Club is an invitation to the whole extended family: friends, sisters and brothers, poets, artists, musicians, selectors, beat-makers, seasoned players, first-timers and everyone in between. Expect familiar faces from previous Immigrant Jamms sessions and cyphers, alongside some of the finest local legends ready to kick out the jams.

The musical guest list is loose. The possibilities are looser.
