Otro Ataque Masivo — The Final Bristol Show

Buena Bristol Social Club is a vibrant live project created by Michel Padrón — Cuban/British trumpeter, composer, arranger, producer and musical director — inspired by the spirit of Buena Vista Social Club and shaped by Bristol’s distinctive musical identity.

Bringing together exceptional Cuban, Latin American and Bristol-based musicians from across the UK’s Latin and jazz scenes, BBSC celebrates the warmth, groove and emotional depth of classic Cuban music. The band combines authenticity, elegance and fire with a contemporary Bristol edge, creating performances rooted in tradition and alive with fresh energy.

Since its launch, BBSC has built a strong reputation for exhilarating live performances, with sold-out shows at The Jam Jar, Bristol Beacon’s Lantern, Frome’s Tree House, Eco Park Cornwall and the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis, alongside appearances at Frome’s Cheese and Grain, Valley Fest, Henley Jazz Festival and Lighthouse, Poole.

In January 2026, the band launched Ataque Masivo, a bold tribute to Massive Attack, co-created by Michel Padrón and pianist, composer and arranger Jim Blomfield. The production opened with three consecutive sold-out shows at The Jam Jar, Bristol.

Now, BBSC returns with Otro Ataque Masivo, reimagining music from Massive Attack’s landmark catalogue through Cuban son, bolero, descarga, Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms. The result is a powerful meeting of Havana and Bristol, combining the atmosphere and emotional depth of Massive Attack’s music with the rhythmic drive and expressive range of an exceptional live band.

Together, Padrón and Blomfield are flying the flag for the breadth of Afro-Cuban jazz, Cuban and Latin music in Bristol, bringing their shared musical vision to this distinctive production.

Otro Ataque Masivo marks the final Bristol show of the Ataque Masivo production. BBSC will then focus on taking the show to audiences across the UK, with ambitions to reach international stages.
