An event held at Bristol Folk House on Saturday 17th October. The event starts at 13:00.
There is a lot going on.
Breathing Room is a three and a half hour gathering offering women of colour space to return to ourselves and each other by leaning into sound and breath as a resource.
Led by breathwork facilitator, Nicola Griffiths of Grown Ass Women Collective, her practice embodies breath, words, music and sound to decolonise and unify.
Nicola will be working in partnership with Ashleigh Louise of Mandala Moon Therapies, a holistic sound and drum practitioner whose rhythms create space for listening and experiencing rest, reconnection and restoration.
GATHER - PAUSE - LISTEN - FEEL - BREATHE
There are times when the world asks more more of us. This is one of those times. The political and social landscape is shifting and the ways women of colour are seen and spoken about adds weight that is felt in our thoughts, and in our bodies. Breathing Room is a space to consider where and how we cultivate a sense of safety, belonging, freedom, lineage and community. This shared practice invites you to do what feels right for you. And at the end of the session, you will have gained space to reflect and rest, and simple breath practices you can take home and use every day.
