Golden Shoals at Bristol Folk House

A gig held at Bristol Folk House on Sunday 9th June. The event starts at 20:00.

Exuberant USA duo Golden Shoals blend old time Appalachian traditions with fine original songwriting and excellent musicianship on acoustic guitar, fiddle and banjo. They combine Americana, bluegrass, folk, jazz and more, blending traditional and contemporary influences to entertaining effect.

Amy Alvey and Mark Kilianski formed their musical partnership back in 2013 in Boston, where they both studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Formerly known as Hoot & Holler, Golden Shoals have released an EP and two albums to date, and have toured extensively across the USA, Canada, Australia, Germany and the UK.

They’ve also taken their blend of footstomping traditional tunes and memorable original songs to many festivals including Blackpot in Louisiana, Americanafest in Nashville and Omagh Bluegrass Festival in Northern Ireland. With a lively stage presence to complement their impressive musicianship and glorious vocal harmonies, Golden Shoals are sure to win lots of new fans when they return to the UK in 2024.

“Rousing old-time-style music that’s fueled by acerbic modern-day wit.”
