Claude Bourbon, progressive blues at Bristol Folk House
See event details

A gig held at Bristol Folk House on Wednesday 21st January. The event starts at 20:00.

Claude Bourbon takes you on a captivating musical journey that defies borders and genres. With roots in classical guitar, his music flows effortlessly through the blues of the Mississippi Delta, the warmth of the Balearic Islands, the rich traditions of the Balkans, and back again.

His style blends Spanish blues with Gypsy rhythms, Eastern European melodies, and touches of flamenco inspired by Paco de Lucía. Influences from Ritchie Blackmore, Joaquín Rodrigo, JJ Cale, and even J.S. Bach can be heard in his rich, intricate playing.

With flawless timing and astonishing technique, Claude does things on six strings most guitarists only dream of. Experience a unique fusion of blues, jazz, folk, classical, and Spanish guitar—all brought together in one unforgettable performance.

“Claude Bourbon aptly describes himself as a musical artist. He uses a vast array of music tools to paint a landscape we have all visited either in person or in our dreams.” Mary Pat Cooney – FolkWorks
