LYLE at The Gallimaufry
See event details

A gig held at The Gallimaufry on Tuesday 25th November. The event starts at 21:30.

LYLE! is a old-school jazz-funk sound, re-imagined for the internet generation. Swashbuckling producer and multi-instrumentalist Lyle Anderton zig-zags through ballads, breaks, and boogies, accompanied by the undeniable rhythms of Liam Twohig on drums. Make-up and hi-viz optional, great vibes guaranteed.

Raised in Bristol’s vibrant contemporary jazz scene, and a regular at the Gallimaufry for untold eons, he developed his voice as a multi-instrumentalist immersed in the city’s rich musical crosscurrents. From early jams in local bars to collaborations with forward-thinking artists, his sound has been shaped by improvisation, experimentation, and groove. He thrives in collaborative settings—whether leading projects or weaving into others’ sonic visions—always pushing boundaries while staying rooted in music’s ever-evolving dialogue.

His 3rd EP, ‘Friends in Highly-Visible Places’ releases 25th November, along with a Gallimaufry Launch Show, and after performances of the music of Tame Impala and Steely Dan in October, it’s time for a power hour of his all-original songs. We’re very excited to welcome him and an extended line-up of horns, guest vocalists, and most importantly, friends.
