Strength In Tenderness EP Launch at The Gallimaufry
Free before 9pm / £3 otd

A gig held at The Gallimaufry on Wednesday 16th February. The event starts at 21:00.

Following the project's ethereal emergence in the latter half of 2021, the t l k band returns to the Galli's stage to launch their debut EP, 'Strength In Tenderness', set for release in February 2022. Part of the freshly formed Kaleidoscope family, t l k has earned support from BBC Introducing, SWU and Noods Radio, supporting fellow experimenters Waldo's Gift at Trinity Centre and Run Logan Run at Jazz Stroud, and playing alongside the likes of Snazzback, STANLÆY and more. The band have moved fervently into residencies at Factory Studios and The Gallimaufry, of which the EP launch concludes an initial three part run, following a rework of influential James Blake material featuring Tiny Chapter and Ella Joy. The immersive t l k sound blends experimental electronic textures with jazz harmony, ethereal vocal layers, sub-infused synth swells and driving grooves, weaving together fluid improvisation with intricate detail. 'Strength In Tenderness' forms t l k’s first extended portfolio, introducing their ethereal sound world, experimental production and thematic influences. For t l k, developing the EP has underlined the necessary nature of music making as a medium for psychological processing, carving space for their experiential understanding of trauma, loss and selfhood to evolve.
