Who’s ready to get their funk on from dusk ’til dawn with Dusk Art Rhythm Quartet?!
These cats have a penchant for effortlessly diving into deep, crunchy, all absorbing funk grooves so tight and tender they bring tears of joy to the eyes of Booker T… and that’s without chopping those green onions…
This is Southern Fried Funk at its juiciest. Expect a full on feast of Hot Buttered Soul, Gnarly New Orleans R&B and and finger lickin’ Louisiana Blues, all blended perfectly into a delectable Memphis Soul Stew in the spirit of the Meters, the Neville Brothers and the J.B.’s.
Comprising of musicians who came together through Dusk Art Studios in 2021 and boasting members of local instro funk heavyweights Manfredi Funk Initiative and Mohawkestra, Tezeta and the Brackish. This is a funk field day for fans of those tasty 60s rhythm, Southern and Memphis Soul jams!

Based in Southville, Bristol since 2016, Tom Friend has done wonders building a community of likeminded record freaks around his ‘proper’ local record shop, and his collaborative nature has seen him amass a large collective of DJ residents that rep the shop at venues, festivals, on radio and lockdown live streams!!
