We’re OVERJOYED to announce our brand new 2nd Saturday of the month LNFC residency at The Lanes - launching this September 11th!!
We have an amazing roster of funky, brassy, grooving party bands to call upon from Bristol, UK/Europe and America to set each residency night alight
And to get your dancing feet flying to the early hours, we are calling upon some wicked local and national DJs playing funk, soul, disco and northern soul to round off each line up.

First up for September, we have Bristol funk royalty - James Morton and his Groove Den - performing live!
Bristol's Ambassador for Music, Saxophonist James Morton's music CV is just incredible. He regularly performs with the funk godfathers - Fred Wesley & Pee Wee Ellis - who were the original composers and band leaders for James Brown's band, The JBs. When not performing with UK Hip Hop Icons, The Herbaliser, he tours his own bands and projects around the country.
His latest incarnation, James Morton's Groove Den, has him select some of the best musicians across the South-West and we can't wait to see who he pulls together for our launch event.
His unique lyrical and rhythmic sax playing style, which allows him to directly “speak” to his audience, conveys a strong sense of emotion that really connects with people and is what makes him such a special – and in demand – player.

To ensure you dance into the early hours, we’ve got the resident Friendly Records DJs playing all manner of funky dancefloor bangers.
Based in Southville, Bristol since 2016, Tom Friend has done wonders building a community of likeminded record freaks around his ‘proper’ local record shop. His collaborative nature has seen him amass a large collective of DJ residents that rep the shop at venues, festivals, on radio and lockdown live streams!!
Tom's hand-selected some right proper funkhead DJs for this ‘ere party. Details to follow
