In the grimiest parts of South London, amongst the shady pubs and ballrooms, Children of the Pope would be formed sometime in late 2018 by Juno Valentine and Guilherme Fells . After a short journey of adjustments to the line up, the band has resurrected in some form of an old friends gathering, with the recruitment of a couple of scene veterans to join the original members Juno and Fells: Poison Ivy’s lost apprentice Matilda Harding on guitar, keys and vocals and Jasper Eade on bass.
The band has gathered a reputation for their hell bent electrifying performances thanks to sold-out shows alongside the likes of Insecure Men, Black Lips, The Rebel and a UK tour with the Honkies.
Always portraying their love for dirty guitars, manic shouting and surrealist melodies.
Their first run of independent singles drew the attention from Totally Wired,Clunk Magazine, Hard of Hearing Mag and Lost and found Magazine.
The gang has been beautifully portrayed by South London’s cinematographer Lou Smith in numerous occasions in both live performances and music videos, honourably depicted in Dave Thomson’s book ‘’Woo! Strange Happenings at the Windmill and other Tangential Rants’’ and gifted with a headline performance to celebrate the release.
