A gig held at The Lanes on Sunday 8th December. The event starts at 20:00.

The Psychotic Monks

From KEXP:

From their sound check, I would not have guessed what their performance would have ended up being like. Influenced by bands like Nick Cave, Joy Division, and Sonic Youth, their songs ranged from angular and melodic to atonal walls of sound and noise. But what really made the performance was the emotion and energy each member poured into it. Particularly the final song, began with an alternately tuned guitar giving a sense of unease, building in volume and anxiety as guitarist/vocalist Martin Bejuy poured gut-wrenching emotion for several minutes of what looked like a form of catharsis, an emptying of the soul. Once the song stopped, he quickly left the room, obviously needing a moment of solitude after what seemed like a very personal experience. It was a sight to behold, this live show. If you ever get the chance to see them live, do it. Their 2017 debut album Silence Slowly and Madly Shines is available now and they will be releasing a new record at the end of March." - KEXP
