held at The Louisiana
on Friday 26th September. The event starts at 20:00.
Purpl is a rising alt-pop artist and producer based in Bristol, known for blending autobiographical lyrics with dreamy textures and contagious melodies. With influences spanning PinkPantheress, Clairo, Fleetwood Mac, The 1975, and Men I Trust, purpl’s sound is a unique fusion of bedroom pop intimacy and nostalgic warmth — driven by hip-hop drums, airy synths, and a voice that’s both angelic and disarmingly honest.
Her breakout single HAWAII has amassed nearly 2 million streams, backed by playlist features across Spotify (New Music Friday, Our Generation and Fresh Finds to name a few), plays on BBC Radio 1, and in-store syncs with H&M and Starbucks. purpl’s live presence has grown steadily, from supporting Jessie Jo Stark at Dareshack, to a headline EP launch at Rough Trade East, to a sold-out show at Thekla — a long-time dream venue.
Now navigating a new chapter following the end of both a personal and creative partnership, purpl has chosen to step fully into her artistry — self-producing future releases with a renewed focus on honesty and raw emotion. “Music is therapy to me,” she says. “I write when I feel my loneliest. I want my songs to be a place people can turn to — to feel seen, heard, and understood.”
With a vinyl release featuring her first two EPs already under her belt, purpl’s next era is set to be her most authentic yet — full of delicate grit, late-night truths, and the kind of comfort only music can give.
